02/20/16 Fishing Report: Big Snook Biting On Inshore Charters

Snook Charters
34″ snook caught on live bait
Yesterday I took out a couple clients from Buffalo on the small boat for some snook and tarpon fishing. The local spillway was still open from all the rain we have been getting, so that was our first stop around 8am. We had picked up a couple dozen live pilchards from Dynamite Live Bait before the trip, and we immediately started hooking snook near the spillway gates. The first couple snook were small, but they put up a good fight on light spinning tackle. At around 9am one of my clients hooked into a bigger fish that made several impressive runs and jumps before we had her boat side. We carefully slid her out of the water for a picture and measured her at 34″. It was the biggest snook of the year so far on my inshore charters! After catching a couple more small snook we decided to head to one of my tarpon holes around 10am. We marked plenty of tarpon on the depth finder, but they did not want to bite our live bait. At 11am we hit up my bluefish hole and hooked into some nice bluefish and jacks before calling it a day at 11:30am. Another fun intracoastal charter in he books! Call me to book a trip,

Captain Chris
