Night fishing offers a better chance to catch snook, tarpon, sharks, and moonfish under the lights around bridges, jetties and sea walls throughout South Florida. There is no sun to burn the skin and the inshore fishing can be phenomenal at times throughout the night. The baitfish gather in massive schools to feed on plankton that flock to the artificial lights throughout the intracoastal. Snook, tarpon, and moonfish sit in the shadows waiting to ambush baitfish that pass overhead. We use live shrimp or live pilchards to maximize our odds of hooking into trophy fish. We also welcome fly fishing and artificial lure fishing during our inshore night charters. With the right presentation, artificial baits work great when the fish are hungry. The live bait costs an extra $30-$60, but it is worth every penny in this type of fishing charter. The larger snook and tarpon tend to hang out deeper in the shadows than the smaller fish that are feeding under the lights. We have many tricks for getting the snook and tarpon to bite when they seem lock-jawed. Live chumming is the best method, but only available during the summer months. Shark fishing is very consistent during our night fishing charters, with 40 to 100 lb class blacktip Sharks making up for most of our catches. Shark fishing is catch and release only, but we get some great photos of the angler with the shark that are worthy of Instagram. These Sharks make incredible runs and jumps around the boat before giving up, often spinning their way 6 feet into the air. Shark fishing requires lots of patience, but the reward is often worth the wait for an epic battle. Our inshore fishing charters at night are often ended with an epic shark battle after
